What browser storage is
Cookies are small text values stored by a website. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps information on your device. HaulageHQ currently uses these technologies for security, authentication, navigation preferences and route-planning convenience.
Essential session cookie
| Name | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
transport_session | Authenticates the signed-in user, selects the permitted company and protects restricted pages. | Up to 7 days, or the shorter session limit configured by the operator. |
This cookie is strictly necessary for the service requested by the user. It is marked secure in production, cannot be read by page scripts and is removed on sign out.
Local storage
| Item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Active page | Returns a signed-in user to the part of the app they last opened. |
| HGV profiles | Remembers vehicle dimensions and route settings saved on that device. |
| Recent routes and route cache | Allows a recent route to reopen without making an unnecessary new routing request. |
| Parking cache | Temporarily remembers recent parking search results. |
Analytics and advertising
HaulageHQ does not currently set advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this policy and the consent controls will be updated before they are used.
Managing stored information
You can clear cookies and site data through your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie signs you out. Clearing local storage removes saved route preferences and recent route information from that browser. Blocking the essential session cookie prevents authenticated parts of HaulageHQ from working.
